We, on the other hand, are not a typical company: we negotiate first and foremost for users’ rights to Free Software, privacy, and security, then we seek the highest quality, and then we negotiate pricing and availability. We make suppliers aware that it matters to users, and then we discuss how best to make that happen. Globally, Purism sources its hardware and software according to our strict philosophy, where we will source and manufacture the highest quality hardware, making every effort to source the best component parts that operate using free/libre and open source software, making every effort to manufacture the best computers overall. Purism sources component parts from around the world, does regional manufacturing based on product category with some products manufactured in the United States with all product final assembly and fulfillment done in United States.

Librem Key is manufactured in its entirety in USA, and has a very strict “Made in USA” label.
