At Purism, we are dedicated to bringing tech manufacturing to the States in a meaningful way.
As CNBC properly states it, Purism is the only US manufacturer creating tech like our Librem 5 and Liberty smartphones.
The Liberty phone has all the electronics manufactured in the United States of America at the Purism facility, the Liberty phone is one of the most advanced electronics coming out of the USA.
Our hardware is known for its kill switches. These sever power to components like the camera and microphone, making your phone or laptop truly disconnected and safe when you need it.
It’s not just our hardware that makes us unique. Our Operating System is different; it’s unintrusive, it’s private, and it’s a growing alternative to iOS and Android called PureOS.
All our source code is released and our team of developers often work with community members and other open source groups on issues and enhancements.
PureOS has convergence at its core; we run the same software on our laptops, tablets, and phones. An app on your Liberty Phone, will run on your Librem 14 laptop similarly. This is largely thanks to our adaptive app advancements.
The US has been a software powerhouse since the dawn of computing. However, manufacturing of these tech goodies continues to be centralized in a few hotspots. It’s time the USA steps up, scales up, and leads on the world stage as a creator, not just a clever consumer.
