As a professional security advisor, I am always asked what smartphone, OS, and apps provide the best security.

The answer to this question is simple yet complicated, and my answer is The Liberty or Librem 5 smartphones running PureOS by Purism.

When a consumer purchases a smartphone running Android OS or purchases an Apple iPhone, or a tablet PC running Microsoft Windows, the product owner is forced to click on “I Agree” to accept a predatory contract (terms of service) of adhesion (take it or leave it) or the product owner cannot use the smartphone even though the product owner paid for the product.

The predatory terms of service enables Google, Apple, and Microsoft, plus the preinstalled app developers such as Meta (Facebook), ByteDance (TikTok), or Amazon, to conduct surveillance on the end user for whatever purpose those companies and developers desire.

Basically, the operating system end user is forced participate within a highly intrusive business model centered on Surveillance Capitalism where the OS end user is exploited for profits at the expense of privacy and security by numerous multinational corporations responsible for the development of the OS and apps.

Freedom of Choice- Consumer Liberation

PureOS is a non-Android convergent Linux kernel based operating system that supports apps that can be peer-reviewed to avoid the targeted advertising business model.

This means that there are no threats to the PureOS end user’s privacy nor security.
