PureOS—the alternative convergent operating system by Purism—is adding an optional subscription to advance development.

The three monthly subscription tiers are:

1. PureOS Subscription Standard $5.99/mo
2. PureOS Subscription Premium $9.99/mo
3. PureOS Subscription Expert $19.99/mo

Purism funds a lot of Linux and Free/Libre and Open Source software including: inventing true convergence, working tirelessly to push all changes into other projects like the Linux Kernel, GNOME, and Debian, while also innovating with Phosh, Phoc, Libhandy (later Libadwaita), libfeedbackd, and creating foundational mobile apps like Calls, Chats, and adding convergence to many core applications like Settings, Calendar, and Clocks.

PureOS has been funded to date by crowdfunding, hardware sales, investment, and will continue to be subsidized by these core Purism business divisions, however we desire to do more, and that is the reason we are adding an optional subscription to keep funding PureOS advancements and innovations. PureOS will continue to be freely available for all, there is no product difference for subscribers or non-subscribers.

Purism has a long list of customer and community requests and never enough developer resources to bring them to reality in the timely manner we would all desire.
