Purism manufactures the electronics of our Liberty Phone and Librem Key at our facility in the US for the following reasons:
- We believe China—an adversarial country to the US—should not be manufacturing high-tech electronics for US citizens nor US government security devices.
- Made in USA Electronics aligns with US interests.
- We believe that US Labor laws are superior to China’s.
- We believe that US Environmental laws are superior to China’s.
- We are a Social Purpose Corporation who has enshrined our values into our articles of incorporation to do good for humanity over maximizing shareholder value.
- We have authored a Digital Bill of Rights and are strong advocates testifying before California Congress for personal privacy, individual freedoms, and security. https://puri.st/
- We author and release 100% of our operating system—PureOS—which does not touch anything from Google, Microsoft, Meta, Apple, and Amazon, as those companies have long proven that they are abusive to the digital rights of society.
