Auto Contrast on Librem 5 smartphones

Using Librem 5 outdoors is easier now! Because the Librem smart phones have more sensors than an ordinary computer, and we can use these extra sensors to improve ease of use and accessibility. The most recent release of Phosh (our user interface), has added a feature to automatically switch to a high contrast theme when in direct sunlight. It can really come in handy, especially on bright days.
To test it out today, open a terminal and run this command:
gsettings set sm.puri.phosh automatic-high-contrast trueIn the future, this will be integrated into settings.
With that enabled, when you walk into the bright sun, your phone will react and keep the screen readable.
As we improve the Librem 5 and the software around PureOS/GNU/Linux our ecosystem becomes easier to use, more convenient and stays entirely in the community’s hands.
