PureOS on the Librem 5 USA has a long list of default capabilities and a longer list of applications that are available to install and an even longer list of applications that are coming.

Software:

A fast summary of capabilities from PureOS on the Librem 5 USA is as follows:

1. Full disk encryption
2. Lockscreen
3. Initial setup process
4. Calls application, cellular calling and internet calling built in.
5. Chats applications, sms, mms, xmpp, matrix built in.
6. Quick settings:
   • Mobile, WiFi, Bluetooth, Power, Rotate, Feedback, Torch, Volume, Brightness, and Notifications.
7. Docking, keyboard, mouse, monitor creating a full desktop experience.
8. WiFi hotspot tethering.
9. Browsers, default Web and desktop Firefox.
10. Contacts that connect up to Calls and Chats.
11. A list of common core applications:
    • Backups, Calculator, Calendar, Clocks, Disks, Document Viewer, Files, Email, Image Viewer, Maps, Terminal, Text Editor, Usage, and Weather.
12. PureOS Store allows for easy app discovery and installation to add other capabilities:
    • Animatch, Sound Recorder, Lollypop, Tootle, just to name a few.

Hardware:

The Librem 5 USA also features a removable user replaceable battery, headphone jack, power button, two volume buttons, indicators for the three hardware kill switches, and a type-c connector for power, data, and video output.
