It’s time to report on code flowing upstream again: Following up on our report for Linux 6.2, 6.3 and 6.4 this summarizes the progress on mainline support for the Librem 5 phone and its development kit during the 6.5, 6.6 and 6.7 development cycles.

hardware description updates

It’s crucial to describe our boards correctly and we constantly improve that description based on specifications, driver code and the hardware. During the last weeks and months we’ve enabled using the display in general and faster suspend/resume among other smaller things. It also shows our dedication to keeping the Librem 5 devkit working well with mainline Linux out of the box:

• arm64: dts: imx8mq-librem5: Reduce usdhc2’s post-power-on-delay-ms to 20ms
• arm64: dts: imx8mq-librem5: Mark tps65982 as wakeup source
• arm64: dts: imx8mq-librem5-r4: Bump up proximity sensor’s near level
• arm64: dts: imx8mq-librem5-devkit: Drop power-supply
• arm64: dts: imx8mq-librem5-devkit: Mark buck2 as always on
• arm64: dts: imx8mq-librem5: set audio-1v8 always-on

MIPI CSI2 camera receiver updates

As mentioned in earlier reports, we’ve written the driver for the i.MX8MQ MIPI CSI2 receiver controller. Now has been the time to call it stable and move it to driver/media/platform/nxp. This is an important step not only for the long term support for the driver itself, but for users as well: The camera stack can now be enabled in Debian for example.

Various documentation and config updates

While working on a development task, the following documentation and config updates went into the mainline too:

• dt-bindings: sound: gtm601: Add description
• dt-bindings: mmc: Fix reference to pwr-seq-simple
• dt-bindings: iio: imu: st,lsm6dsx: add mount-matrix property

During this period we contributed 4 Reviewed-by: or Tested-by: tags to patches by other authors. Again we would like to thank everybody who reviewed our patches and helped us supporting the hardware in mainline Linux.
